Le CIHEAM est une organisation intergouvernementale compos\u00e9e de quatre Instituts Agronomiques M\u00e9diterran\u00e9ens (IAM), situ\u00e9s \u00e0 Bari (Italie), La Can\u00e9e (Gr\u00e8ce), Montpellier (France) et Saragosse (Espagne), et d\u2019un Secr\u00e9tariat g\u00e9n\u00e9ral bas\u00e9 \u00e0 Paris. Le CIHEAM a \u00e9t\u00e9 cr\u00e9\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019initiative conjointe de l\u2019Organisation de coop\u00e9ration et de d\u00e9veloppement \u00e9conomiques (OCDE) et du Conseil de l\u2019Europe en 1962. \u00c0 l\u2019occasion du 60e anniversaire de sa constitution en 2022, cette organisation a demand\u00e9 \u00e0 l\u2019association The Garden of Peace de cr\u00e9er un jardin de la paix \u00e0 son si\u00e8ge de La Can\u00e9e (Cr\u00e8te, Gr\u00e8ce). Vingt-et-une vari\u00e9t\u00e9s d\u2019oliviers ont \u00e9t\u00e9 envoy\u00e9es \u00e0 cet institut pour l\u2019installation du premier Jardin international de la paix sur ce site. L\u2019Institut Agronomique M\u00e9diterran\u00e9en de La Can\u00e9e poursuit principalement les trois objectifs suivants :<\/span><\/p>\n

– formation sp\u00e9cialis\u00e9e de troisi\u00e8me cycle<\/span><\/p>\n

– recherche en r\u00e9seau<\/span><\/p>\n

– facilitation du d\u00e9bat r\u00e9gional<\/span><\/p>\n

dans diff\u00e9rents domaines : \u00e9conomie et gestion des affaires, g\u00e9o-information dans la gestion de l\u2019environnement, g\u00e9n\u00e9tique et biotechnologie horticoles, qualit\u00e9 des aliments et chimie des produits naturels, agriculture durable. Ce centre s\u2019est impos\u00e9 comme une autorit\u00e9 en mati\u00e8re d\u2019agriculture, d\u2019alimentation et de d\u00e9veloppement rural en M\u00e9diterran\u00e9e.<\/span><\/p>\n
