A Meeting for Feasibility Assessment
On June 15th, a meeting took place at the headquarters of the Accademia della Musica in Camerino, hosted by the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF). Representatives from The Garden of Peace (TGOP) association, ABF, the Municipality of Camerino, and the Accademia itself attended the meeting to assess the feasibility of the project on-site.
During the visit, an area that could be dedicated to the garden was identified, and various creative ideas were considered. The goal is not just to create an olive grove but to use olive trees as a tool to promote and convey the message of peace, harmoniously integrating them into the surrounding environment.
During the meeting, everyone expressed their utmost willingness to ensure the successful realization of the project, embracing their respective roles. The combination of the garden’s message of peace and the harmony of music proved to be engaging. The Municipal Councilor of Camerino also reiterated the administration’s total commitment to actively participate in the project.
Olive Trees as Tools of Peace
It was highlighted that the 21 olive varieties from 21 countries across the Mediterranean and beyond were donated to ABF by TGOP. These olive varieties, sourced from the Olive Germplasm Bank of Cordoba (BMGO), represent one of the two collections that are part of the Garden of Peace in the Municipality of Paciano, where The Garden of Peace project originated. With great generosity, the Municipality of Paciano chose to return one of the collections to TGOP, knowing that these varieties would be used to create the garden of peace at the Accademia della Musica, which in turn donates them to ABF. This Garden of Peace in Camerino will have a place of honor and will join a global network of gardens promoted by TGOP association. This gesture carries a universal message of generosity, harmony, and reconciliation.
TGOP reiterated its willingness to actively participate in all stages of the garden’s construction. The meeting generated great satisfaction due to everyone’s willingness to contribute their best to the project.
Generosity, Harmony, and Reconciliation
The generosity demonstrated by the Municipality of Paciano in returning the olive varieties to TGOP, which were then donated to ABF for the creation of the Garden of Peace in Camerino, carries a universal message of generosity, harmony, and reconciliation. This gesture represents the importance of overcoming divisions and working together to promote peace.
The Garden of Peace in Camerino will have a place of honor and will join a global network of gardens promoted by the TGOP association. This network of gardens symbolizes the connection between different communities and nations, promoting mutual understanding, cooperation, and the building of a more harmonious world.
The meeting highlighted the willingness of all participants to contribute their best to the project, ensuring its success. Using olive trees as tools to promote and convey the message of peace represents a tangible way to engage the community and raise awareness about the value of peace and harmony.
In summary, the meeting emphasized the importance of collaboration, generosity, and the pursuit of peace through the Garden of Peace project in Camerino.
