THE GARDEN OF PEACE WAS INAUGURATED ON 5 AUGUST AT THE ACADEMY OF MUSIC AFFILIATED WITH THE ANDREA BOCELLI FOUNDATION IN CAMERINO

🌿 Inaugurated the GARDEN OF PEACE in Camerino

Last Saturday’s inaugural event, enriched by the Italian national anthem and the opera singing concert by the talented ABF Masterclass, was attended by many guests: the mayor of Camerino, Roberto Lucarelli, the regional councillor Chiara Biondi, ABF general manager Laura Biancalani, ABF ambassadresses Elena Brunelli and Paola Rovellini, the president of The Garden of Peace, Francesco Serafini, and the secretary of the association Oriano Spadoni. Also present were Imogen and John Sheeran and Dietlinde Maria Perathoner, appointed TGoP ambassadress for the occasion. A harmonious fusion of olive trees and music to create a symphony of hope and peace. The Academy of Music, affiliated with the Andrea Bocelli Foundation (ABF), hosted this wonderful project created by The Garden of Peace (TGoP) Association. A call to reflect on coexisting with nature and others in a world of sharing and serenity.

🌍 A universal message

Imogen and John Sheeran, patrons of the event, invited by The Garden of Peace Association, spoke during the opening, how a few years ago they organised the United Nations Millennium Exhibition, working with over 50 countries and hundreds of artists and in many different languages. The exhibition gave a fascinating insight into the world as seen through the eyes of its artists. The same message of peace and tolerance unites this event with the one that TGoP spreads around the world.

🌱 21 varieties, 21 countries

The garden hosts 21 varieties of olive trees from 21 different countries, an exceptional fusion of cultures and traditions. This universal symbol of peace and tolerance becomes a beacon of cultural exchange and openness, recalling the importance of compassion and charity as core values.

In today’s historical context, where intolerance and violence are gaining ground over peace and charity, the olive tree assumes a central role in promoting mutual understanding. Each variety tells a unique story, underlining the power of unity in diversity.

The olive tree, a symbol of unity in the Mediterranean, stands as a catalyst for dialogue and cooperation between nations, transcending cultural and religious barriers. Its millennial presence invites us to recognise ourselves as human beings, bound by a common heritage.
